SIOUX FALLS, SD -- The United States Hockey League announced Monday that Keith Burchett has been named CCM Hockey Co-Forward of the Week. Burchett earned the honors after recording five points in three games last weekend for the Sioux Falls Stampede.

On Wednesday, Burchett tallied the Stampede’s only goal in a 7-1 loss to the U.S. Under-18 Development Program and followed that up with a three-point night against Youngstown on Friday. Burchett help set up the Stampede’s second, fourth and fifth goals in a 6-1 rout of the Phantoms. On Saturday, Burchett tallied the Herd’s third goal of the game to help cement a 3-1 victory and weekend sweep of Youngstown. The wins improved the Stampede’s record to 9-4-1 on the year and kept them just two points behind Omaha for first place in the Western Conference.

The Oak Brook, Illinois native has recorded 10 points (4g, 6a) and a plus-3 rating in 14 games this season and is currently riding a four-game point streak. Burchett was a sixth round draft pick of the Stampede during Phase 2 of the 2013 USHL Draft. Last season, Burchett posted 39 points (17g, 22a) in 31 games with the Chicago Mission Major Midget team. He has already committed to play collegiate hockey at Bowling Green State University.

Burchett and the Stampede return to action this Friday when they travel to Waterloo to face the Black Hawks at 7:05 PM. The Herd are back home at the Sioux Falls Arena on Saturday when they host rival Sioux City at 7:05 PM.
