It's hard to find two leading men more "Alpha Male" than Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe, so combing their two imposing presences in 'Broken City' should set off plenty of fireworks in the upcoming political/action thriller. The new 'Broken City' trailer has appeared online, and you can check it out after the break.

In the film, which sees director Allen Hughes take a break from being part of The Hughes Brothers ('The Book of Eli') to fly solo, Wahlberg plays an ex-cop seeking redemption - and revenge - after being double-crossed and then framed by the mayor of New York City (Crowe). Even the mayor of the world's greatest city should know that you don't screw over Marky Mark.

The relatively brief trailer uses Kanye West's "Power" to amplify the point that, indeed, no one man should have all that power; it really has become the go-to track for movies trying to sell this message.

'Broken City', which boasts an impressive supporting cast including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kyle Chandler, Barry Pepper and Jeffrey Wright, releases on January 18th.
