Bob Dylan: The Marky Tour
Bob Dylan and special guest Mark Knopfler start their fall tour Friday night in Winnipeg, Canada with dates through November 21st in Brooklyn, New York. This is the follow-up to their tour last fall in Europe, which featured Knopfler sitting in with Dylan’s band on most of the dates. Knopfler will open each show with a 70-minute set backed by his seven-piece band. Both Dylan and Knopfler are touring behind new albums — Tempest for Dylan and Privateering for Knopfler, which unfortunately has not been released in the U.S. as he is having a dispute with his label, Warner Brothers. Knopfler played on Dylan’s 1979 album, Slow Train Coming, and produced his 1983 release, Infidels.
