In a historic move, many University of Missouri football players have gone on strike as they protest the Universities handling of a rash of recent racial incidents on campus.

The announcement came via Twitter on Saturday night two days after Missouri fell to 4-5 on the season after a 31-13 loss to Mississippi State.

The University followed up the declaration with a statement themselves.

"The department of athletics is aware of the declarations made tonight by many of our student-athletes,.  We all must come together with leaders from across our campus to tackle these challenging issues and we support our student-athletes right to do so."

I'm not sure this is the best way to get results because at the end of the day, the University President even if forced out will have a lot of friends in power in that state and at that University and the way this is handled will affect the left over bias nature to be there.

That said, I don't know all the specifics of how the incidents were handled, but regardless you'd think there would be a better way to discuss, address and fix some of these issues.

However, if there were multiple mis-handlings in these cases, changes need to be made.

The incidents this fall have included a University Black Leader being harassed, feces spread in a bathroom made to look like a swastika as well as the N-word being yelled at a group practicing for a play.

Clearly it is reaching boiling point and we saw how out of control some people can be when they quit thinking logical and start acting irrational as we did in near by Ferguson Missouri after Michael Brown passed away.

Hopefully, a peaceful and impactful resolution will come to the surface sooner than later.
