A collection of 61 images shot during their historic 1965 concert at Shea Stadium in New York sold for almost $46,000 at a British auction -- that's double the low end of the pre-sale estimate. Mark Weinstein took the shots after getting into the ballpark with a fake press credential and is thought to be the only photographer who stayed for The Beatles' entire set. A rival ran out of film during the show.

Auctioneer Paul Fairweather tells the BBC the winning bidder is "a South American gentleman currently living in Washington [who] is a huge collector of Beatles memorabilia."
