Here’s a different spin on Beatlemania — a cookbook whose recipes were inspired by Fab Four songs.
Lanea Stagg has published Recipe Records — A Culinary Tribute to the Beatles. How about “Let It Brie,” “Stuffed Sgt. Peppers” and “Tangerine Tree and Marmalade Sky Bread?” Need more — there’s “I Should’ve Known Butter,” “Strawberry Pie Forever” and “Ob-La-Di Ob-La Slaw.” These are real recipes. Examiner.com says “Lady Medallions” is filet mignon prepared with brandy and chives; and “Re-Act Naturally” is a dessert dish of bananas, dark brown sugar, banana liqueur and rum. The book is the latest mash-up of recipes and rock. Stagg’s previous books featured such talked-about treats as “Like a Rolling Scone” and “House of the Rising Bun.” They’re available from her website.
