Summer is upon us and that means a lot of people are planning on taking that summer vacation. If you've ever taken a plane then you know that you absolutely need a boarding pass to be allowed through security and onto the aircraft.

Well a video from USA Today has recently surfaced with shocking information that shows how vulnerable a person is when they just throw away their boarding pass. A hacker can simply scan the bar code and access all of your information: your name, phone number, frequent flyer number and more.

I can't tell you how many times that I have just carelessly thrown away my boarding pass. Now, I'm going to be more careful.

So the next time you book a flight to your summer destination vacation, make sure that you discard your boarding ticket correctly and don't leave it on the plane or in the airport trash can.
