As we wait for more information to eventually make its way to the internet about Zack Snyder's tentatively-titled 'Man of Steel' sequel, 'Batman vs. Superman,' we have been blessed with a few tidbits of info -- specifically, one producer who took to Twitter yesterday to drop some plot details concerning the status of the caped crusader in the upcoming sequel. And those details might surprise you.

Producer Daniel Alter, who also worked on 'Hitman,' tweeted the following piece of information:

First of all, we know this to be true because Snyder is taking his 'Batman vs. Superman' story from Frank Miller's 'The Dark Knight Returns' story, in which Batman is an old, grizzly man who has retired from crime fighting. So this makes sense. But we're really struck by the idea that Batman would be refusing to talk to Robin, and even more taken aback that he'd be using drones from his Batcave -- seems like some pretty dark stuff they're dealing with here.

We know that Snyder and his writing partner, David Goyer, aren't adhering closely to the 'Dark Knight Returns' story line -- which is great because that means we'll get to see an inventive new story that draws inspiration from classics with which we're familiar. On the other hand, we'd really love to see Batman beat the crap out Superman with Kryptonite gauntlets.
