B Rock Note: Meat Loaf Turns 70!

Like a Bat Out of Hell we'll be gone when the cake is gone. Seventy birthday candles will adorn Meat Loaf's cake this week (September 27).

Although he was born Marvin Lee Aday, he's been going by the stage name "Meat" for years. He explains in a B Rock Note how he came by the name.

1977's Bat Out of Hell has gone on to sell over 43 million copies and still sells an estimated 200,000 annually.
