He has spent a lifetime obsessed with all things Rock & Roll.  Dave has written for a variety of publications including Shindig!, Bucketful Of Brains, The Cleveland Scene and The Cleveland Plain Dealer. He hosts his own radio show, has promoted concerts and played in several bands including, but not limited to, Rainy Day Saints, The Chamber Strings, The Cynics, New Salem Witch Hunters, Guided By Voices, Death Of Samantha, and Captain Groovy & His Bubblegum Army.   Favorite bands-Cheap Trick, The Monkees, Sparks, Motorhead, Beach Boys, Rockpile, XTC,Van Der Graaf Generator, Sweet, Bob Dylan,etc. Favortie color- paisley. 40 Years Ago: Slade Play Two Sold-Out Shows at London’s Earls Court

Slade were just about at the peak of their powers in the summer of 1973, riding high with seven consecutive Top 10 singles in the U.K. The latest, 'Skweeze Me, Pleeze Me,' shot straight to No. 1. When the band hit the road, with openers the Sensational Alex Harvey Band, demand for tickets was so high, they scheduled two nights at the legendary Earls Court in London.

35 Years Ago: Grace Slick Quits Jefferson Starship After Drunken Germany Show

By the middle of 1978, Jefferson Airplane had upgraded to Starship and were in the process of running out of fuel. The band (including singer Grace Slick) was on tour in Europe to promote the recently released 'Earth' album when a stop in Germany deteriorated into a confusing mess. "She'd always had a thing about Germany," wrote Jeff Tamarkin in the band bio 'Got a Revolution!' "All things Deutsche brought out the worst in her."

25 Years Ago: Rhino Records Release ‘Golden Throats: the Great Celebrity Sing Off’

On May 18, 1988, the fine folks at Rhino Records opened a door to a world few knew existed by releasing 'Golden Throats: The Great Celebrity Sing-Off.' The LP showcased the forgotten artifacts from a time when actors regularly put out records, cashing in on 'the sounds of today' or 'the now sounds of the jet set generation,' or some other such tag line. Say what you want about such boring things as 'artistic merit' and jab if you must about how these, um, 'vocalists' abused these songs, you would be hard pressed to find a more entertaining batch of tunes.
