HOUSTON, Texas – The National Association of Basketball Coaches' announced on Thursday that Augustana men's basketball head coach Tom Billeter has been named the 2016 UPS NABC Division II Coach of the Year.

Billeter will receive his award at the AT&T NABC Guardians of the Game Awards Show on Sunday, April 3, at the Cullen Theater at Wortham Center in Houston at 6:30 p.m. Augustana senior Daniel Jansen will also be honored by the NABC in Houston on Sunday as the 2016 NABC Division II Player of the Year.

Billeter, in his 13th season as Augustana's head coach, led the Vikings to a school record 34 wins in 2015-16, compiling a 34-2 record. He led Augustana to its first men's basketball National Championship in school history this season. Billeter has led the Vikings to a 65-5 record over the last two seasons.

Augustana made its seventh NCAA Tournament appearance under Billeter in 2015-16, including the programs first ever trip to the Elite Eight. He has led Augustana to 20 or more wins in a season five times in his career, including 30-plus wins in back-to-back seasons. Augustana won back-to-back NSIC Regular Season and Tournament titles in 2014-15 and 2015-16 and secured the first region championship in program history this season.

Billeter was named the NSIC's Coach of the Year in 2015-16. He was also named National Coach of the Year by Division II Bulletin. During his time at Augustana, two players have been named conference player of the year. Daniel Jansen was named the NSIC Player of the Year in 2014-15 and 2015-16. Casey Schilling was named Defensive Player of the Year by the NSIC's coaches in two straight seasons. This season, Jansen was named the National Player of the Year by the NABC and Division II Bulletin.
