Attorney General Marty Jackley to Officially Announce Bid to Run for Governor
Attorney General Marty Jackley plans to officially throw his hat in the ring to be South Dakota's next governor during a statewide tour he'll conduct October (3-4).
KDLT News is reporting Jackley's announcement tour will make stops in ten different South Dakota cities. According to the report, Jackley plans to share his vision for the state with the people of South Dakota. Those attending the tour can expect to hear him speak on subjects like; South Dakota jobs, education, and innovation.
Each stop Jackley makes on the tour will include innovative South Dakota businesses and education institutions.
Two of his stops, according to KDLT News, will include visits to schools he attended when he was growing up. Jackley plans to visit the renovated Erskine Building in Sturgis, where he went to elementary school, along with the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology where he attended college.
Jackley graduated in 1992 with honors from the SD School of Mines and Technology, earning a degree in electrical engineering. From there, he went on to receive a law degree in 1995 from the USD School of Law.
Jackley has served as South Dakota's Attorney General since 2009. He also held the post of U.S. attorney for South Dakota from 2006 to 2009.
