Local, state and federal officials are beginning preliminary assessments of damage to public infrastructure caused by tornadoes and flooding in mid-June.

State officials say people from local governments, the State Office of Emergency Management and FEMA are expected to take three days to finish the damage assessment work in 12 counties and one Indian reservation.

The teams are in Butte, Clay, Corson, Dewey, Hanson, Jerauld, Lincoln, Minnehaha, Perkins, Turner, Union and Ziebach counties and the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.
