For the past several years the City of Sioux Falls has displayed area art talent in an unorthodox setting.

A snowplow!

Those exceptional talents will be displayed this Saturday, October 21st at The Eighth Annual Paint the Plows event at the Empire Mall in the JCPenney east parking lot.

On display will be 22 plows painted by area students from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The Paint the Plows program is open to elementary, middle, junior high, and high schools within Sioux Falls.

The public is welcome to come view the plows and vote for their favorite. The plows are set up to be viewed by car or on foot.

“The Paint the Plows program showcases the artwork and creativity of so many talented students and is a highlight for our staff each year,” says Galynn Huber, Street Operations Manager.

The Street Division primes the plows, and the schools and organizations supply the paint. The participants receive the plows approximately one week after the start of school and complete their works of art one week prior to the display.
