An inmate at the State Women's Prison in Pierre has been sentenced to more prison time for an attack on another inmate.

The Attorney General's office says 23-year-old Amanda Portillo was sentenced to ten years in prison for aggravated assault.

Portillo pleaded guilty in August to the charge, which stems from an attack on another inmate that involved punching, kicking and stomping the other woman in the head.

She was already serving a sentence for aggravated assault on a law officer, and the AG's office says the new sentence will be served consecutively with the earlier sentence.
