Angels Singer Doc Neeson Once Again Facing Life-Threatening Brain Tumor

Doc Neeson, original singer of Aussie hard rock legends the Angels (or Angel City in America), says his brain cancer has returned. "The news is grim, but some people can get through this," he told ABC News in Australia, "and that's the way I try to think about things. So I'm looking forward optimistically to the future."

In 2012, Neeson was diagnosed with the brain tumor and given 18 months to live. "It was a shock, of course, when somebody puts a use-by date on me, but I still hung on to a shred of hope that I'd get back on the stage at some point."

In 2013, the brain tumor was removed, but an MRI scan this past February revealed that it had returned, and could be life-threatening in three to six months. Angels bassist Chris Bailey passed away last year, also from cancer.

The Angels formed in 1974, and though they never achieved big time success outside their homeland, they have remained a highly respected and very loved band among hard rock fans worldwide, influencing many bands, including Guns N' Roses, along the way.
