The Sioux Falls National Weather Service is out with its report on the tornadoes that hit the Alpena and Wessington Springs areas last week, injuring one person.

The Alpena tornado is being rated an EF-4, with peak winds gusts of 170 miles per hour.  The Wessington Springs tornado is being rated an EF-2, with peak wind gusts of 135 miles per hour.

The tornado that hit the Alpena area was on the ground for over 40 minutes and affected two family farms, resulting in minor injuries to two people and the death of a family pet.
