It was only fitting that Queen played a large part in the closing ceremonies last night at the Summer Olympics in London.  The crowd interacted with a video image of the late Freddie Mercury before Brian May and Roger Taylor were joined by Jessie J for a rousing version of ‘We Will Rock You’.

According to Queen, ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘We Are The Champions’ were played nearly 506,00 times in London during the two weeks of the games. Their song ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ was also used in a celebration video for Team Great Britain.

I’m looking forward to hopefully seeing Queen with Adam Lambert on the road in 2013.  If anybody can do justice to Freddie’s signing – it’s Adam.
