If you listened to Aerosmith's 'Music From Another Dimension!' album and thought, "These guys could have done better," it sounds like at least one of the band members agrees with you.

In a recent interview with the VH1 Radio Network, guitarist Brad Whitford admitted to some dissatisfaction with the band's 2012 LP, which debuted to mixed reviews and somewhat disappointing sales last November. "We have a lot of issues with the last record now," he said. "We felt like ... I don't know, we feel like we missed the mark a little bit, and I'm not quite sure what we would've done different, but we feel like we should've done something a little different -- but I don't think we know what it was." (Here's our suggestion!)

That vague feeling of having missed the mark somehow continued to echo throughout Whitford's thoughts on the album. "We had a good time making it, but I don't know if the material that we did really translated," he said. "Maybe we're a little bit stuck in the way we do things. I don't know. We kind of did it old school and thought we were going in the right direction, but ... I don't know. I don't know."

The silver lining for fans is that, according to Whitford, the band still has "a lot of creative juices flowing" for a future release -- although he was quick to admit that he has no idea how or when that might take shape. "Maybe we'll experiment a bit more in maybe the writing process and stuff," he mused. "Maybe we need to go back and do some more...maybe bring in some more contemporary people to work with, and maybe take a few twists and turns. I don't know."
