Apparently, a great number of Belgians aren't too thrilled with the idea of seeing Axl Rose sing lead for AC/DC. According to a new report, 7,000 people have asked for a refund for the group's May 16 slot at the Festivalpark in Werchter, Belgium.

The news comes via De Standaard, who reprint a statement from Live Nation, the concert's promoter, saying that approximately 1,000 of those were offered to those on their waiting list, with the remaining tickets going back on sale to the general public. Fans had until yesterday (May 2) to ask for a refund. The Festivalpark grounds can host roughly 85,000 people a day.

Less than three weeks ago, Rose was hired to cover the band's existing commitments -- which include 12 European dates and 10 postponed U.S. shows -- when longtime singer Brian Johnson was forced to pull out due to the risk of "total deafness." There has been no announcement about when the U.S. concerts will take place, although it is believed that it will take place in the fall, after Rose finishes his stadium tour with the partially reunited Guns N' Roses, which runs between June 23 and Aug. 22.

AC/DC begin their Rose-fronted tour of Europe this Saturday (May 7) at the Passeio Maritimo de Alges in Lisbon, Portugal, with the last date being in Aarhus, Denmark on June 12. Yesterday, audio of Rose reportedly rehearsing with the band was leaked over the Internet. You can listen to Rose singing “Thunderstruck,” “Shoot to Thrill,” “Hells Bells,” “Hell Ain’t a Bad Place to Be” and “Back in Black” here.
