A Sioux Falls man who works for the Garretson School District has been arrested on felony charges.

Captain Paul Niedringhaus of the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office sent out a press release on Tuesday afternoon with a few details of the detainment. 58 year-old Rodney Bernard Fischer was arrested at the school at 10:00 AM on a warrant charging him with Solicitation of a Minor.

Fischer is being held on a $500,000 cash-only bond and will appear in court on Wednesday afternoon. No details of the crime he allegedly committed have been made public yet, but information from the public may be needed.

The probe is being led by the Sioux Falls Office of Homeland Security Investigations and Niedringhaus encourages anyone with information pertaining to the case to contact Sioux Falls Police, the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office or Homeland Security.

A letter was e-mailed to parents in the community:

Dear parents,
This morning, one of our employees, Rod Fischer, was served a warrant for his arrest.  At this time, we do not have many details, but we do know that the charge in the warrant is “solicitation of a minor.”  School officials have been in contact with the Minnehaha County Sherriff’s office regarding these charges, and they have informed us that “there do not appear to be any local victims in the case.”  We really do not have more information to offer at this time, and quite frankly, we have more questions than answers at this point.  As details from the investigation and court case emerge, we will take appropriate action.
Sincerely,
Guy Johnson
Superintendent
