Another solid week of football led to a pair of accomplishments for South Dakota State.

Not only did the Jackrabbits beat Robert Morris 34-10 last Saturday, but SDSU was also elevated to #5 in the latest STATS FCS rankings - the highest in school history.

Against the Colonials, SDSU quarterback Zach Lujan threw for a career high 395 yards, while wide receiver Jake Wieneke caught two touchdown passes.

Defensively, linebacker Jesse Bobbit had 11 tackles, and RMU didn't complete a pass in the second half.

This week, not only is it the Missouri Valley Football Conference opener, it's a match-up of two Top Five teams when the fifth ranked Jackrabbits host number three North Dakota State in the 12th annual Dakota Marker game.

The four-time defending National Champions have won seven in-a-row against South Dakota State, and have ended the Jacks season twice in the past three seasons with a win in the FCS Playoffs.

The Bison are 2-1 and are coming in off their second bye week in the first month of the season. Last time out, the NDSU defense limited North Dakota to just 61 yards of total offense in a 34-9 win, September 19 in Fargo. That was the fewest yards allowed by a NDSU defense in more than 40 years.

Offensively, North Dakota State is led by senior quarterback Carson Wentz, who is making his third career start against SDSU. In two games last year, Wentz threw for 350 yards and 3 touchdowns, while running for 170 yards against the Jackrabbit defense. This season he's hitting 63 percent of his passes and has nine touchdown passes and no interceptions.

Kickoff is 6:00 PM in Brookings Saturday.
