The 6th annual South Dakota Kayak Challenge kicks off this weekend in Yankton. Organizers are expecting a record number of competitors who will be taking part in the 72-mile stretch of the Missouri River.

Competitors have 30 hours to complete the challenge which starts at 7:00 AM at Riverside Park in Yankton. The challenge will end at the South Sioux City public boat ramp near the Marina Inn Hotel & Conference Center.

The race is open to any paddle-powered craft, including kayaks, canoes,  or paddle-boards. So if you think you have what it takes, get signed up now. Oh, by the way the record for completing the challenge is 8 hours, 18 minutes.
